Inspired by the little-known term coined by J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings — Eucatastrophe Media Group was founded in 2025 by filmmaker, Zachariah Montgomery. While we develop and produce all kinds of media for a wide variety of clients, we are specialized in content and organizations that make a positive impact in our communities.

The philosophy of Eucatastrophe is of awe, grace, and triumph — ultimately reinforcing a belief in something greater and a call to action even in the face of hopelessness. In 1944, at the height of the second world war, J.R.R. Tolkien writes — "Tragedy is the true form of drama, its highest function. But its opposite exists. Since we do not possess a word for it, I will call it EUCATASTROPHE."

The "good" catastrophe, with inherent connection to an optimistic view on the unfolding of events in the narrative of the world. When all seems lost. A joyous turn. A catch of the breath, a beat and lifting of the heart. The ultimate miracle of human fate and happy endings.
